This is a review of the CFA cattery that may be found at http://www.furbycats.com. They are located in Sterling, Illinois. This is my personal experience that I had with them.
I recently put a deposit on 2 Persian kittens that I found at this cattery. Four days before I was going to pick them up, I emailed the cattery to ask what kind of food I should buy them so that I could continue their same diet after I brought them home.
The next day I had an email response advising me that one was still being bottle fed due to the entire litter having "colds" at 6 weeks of age from a virus introduced to the cattery by a friend of the breeder that worked in a no kill animal shelter located nearby. The illness was previous to any inoculations.
I consulted with another breeder and was advised not to complete this adoption. I had an attorney write furbycats to get a refund and have had no response.
11/09/10: Saw that these cats are still for sale. At 9 months old, they weigh 3.5 lbs. Looks like the decision to backout was a great decision as those animals should weigh about 7+ pounds.
